Pornography is one of the biggest issues that stifles midlife career change and / or transition but is able to fly below the radar, rarely detected. How often do you hear a statement like this one? You might want to know if it is something that has been researched and proven. I cannot say there is that research. If you come across one, please let me know. However, as one who help people in issues pertaining to performance, I find pornography to be one that plays a significant role. It has physical, sexual, emotional, spiritual and relational consequences. What is […]

TML198: How To Have A Supportive Wife During Midlife Transition with Kingsley Grant

So many men in midlife long to have a supportive wife who would join them in their quest to accomplish their dream. At least that’s what I’ve heard and read.

Kingsley GrantI’m not sure that’s a fair assessment. Most times it’s the husband’s lack of giving her enough and before-hand information that leads to her not being readily supportive.

One of the questions I like to ask these men is, how long have you had the idea of a transition? Many of them will say, a long time.

I’ll follow up with, when did you inform your wife of your idea? Some will say they gave her enough lead time. They discussed it every step of the way. Others have said, when I was getting ready to make their final decision.

TML197: 5 Career Change Mistakes To Avoid Making At Midlife with Kingsley Grant

One of the mistakes to avoid making at midlife that I talk about in this episode, may surprise you. There are many that I could choose. Making mistakes during Kingsley Grantthe midlife years are plentiful. They come in all sizes, shapes and forms.

We generally hear of these mistakes happening mostly in relationships and finances.

Unfortunately, what gets overlooked is changing careers.

Some of the above mentioned mistakes come as a result of a career change decision. The mistake is not necessarily the career change as much as it has do to do with how the decision came about.

TML196: Career Change Is The Only Constant In Life At Midlife with Kingsley Grant

You may have heard it said, “Change is the only constant in life” but I’m creating a twist to that phrase by adding one word – Career.

Kingsley GrantIn this episode you’ll hear me making reference to career change as the only constant in life at midlife even though it might not hold up as a scientific fact.

There are a number of changes that are made at midlife for many people. Based on what I’ve seen, heard and read, changes occur mostly in relationships and career at this stage of life.

TML195: The 3 Positive Affirmations That Changed My Life with Dr. Philip Carson

There are mixed reactions to the idea of positive affirmations. Some people see it as not in harmony with their belief system whereas others don’t give it any credence. For me it was both. I saw positive affirmations as hokey-pokey and something to stay away from. As a matter of fact I saw it as for those who practiced eastern mysticism, which was in contrast to my belief system. In recent years, all that has changed for me. Not entirely but for the most part. I still have some skepticism for the extreme beliefs that equates positive affirmations to that […]

TML194: How To Take Swift Action After A Conference with Bill Griggs

Taking action much less swift action after a conference is a challenge in and of itself. Most times, it’s not that you don’t have good intentions, it’s that once you have settled into your routine once again, life gets in the way. Do you find that to be true as well? I know that I’ve done that on many occasions. As a matter of fact I have some unopened boxes and books that I had good intention of consuming once I returned home but never did. What I have found out is that if you are able to capture one […]

TML193: From A Yoga Mat To Greatness and Live Your Dream | Sarah McVanel

Who would have ever thought that a vision for your future could come while laying on your back on a yoga mat?

Sarah McVanel and Kingsley GrantI’ll tell you who: someone who believes that in the stillness or quietness of the moment, these things can happen.

Even though I’m not a practicing yoga person, I have heard some of the great benefits of the practice.

I must hastily say that the hokey-pokey kind of yoga where you are in trance-like state or other induced mind altering moments, is strange for me. I’m not a proponent of that.
