You like me know this: we need to make changes along the way if we don’t want to get stuck. We’ve got to do something different. As you know too well this saying: To keep doing the same thing over and over again expecting to get different results is called insanity. But, when it comes time to make changes that will bring us different results, something happens. We know we need to make changes but we are overcome by fear, doubts, feelings of inadequacy, just to name a few of the emotions that step in to foil our plans. Everything […]

At what point in your life would you consider making changes in your work? This is one of the questions that so many people know they need to entertain, but for one reason or another, they Kingsley Grantshift away from doing so.

Why is it so hard for some people who know they need to make a change at work, in certain relationships, in clothing and other areas of their lives, to do so?

My quickest guest is that they are not ready or willing to pay the immediate price tag. It will cost them something that in their minds is not worth it especially right now.

I find that with me, I go through several “takes” on trying to figure out when should I make a change and do I really have to.

Fear of rejection is one of the most common ailments of our time when it comes to doing something outside our familiar setting. Some would call this familiar setting your comfort zone. Have you ever felt stuck because of fear of rejection? What has that fear done to you or cost you? I know it has had great impact on my life. Being porn free is a huge struggle for a large number of men and I would say for some women as well. The statistics lean towards more men struggling in this area, than it is for women. The porn industry remains one of the most lucrative of its kind simply because the demand is so great.  Pornography is an equal opportunity employer. It doesn’t discriminate. So many people have had their lives wrecked because of the lure and entrapment of pornography. Because of its widespread appeal, it has almost become an accepted part of our society and culture. In some […]

Many people that I know desire to say these words: I paid off my mortgage. I know that I too long to say those words and will be saying them soon.

So many people get stuck in life because of this one phrase that paralyzes them: it’s too late. I’m so glad that I found out early enough that is was not too late to create an exit strategy from my 9-5 to doing what I truly love to do. Imagine living with that thought nagging you night and day. Whenever some thing crosses your path that makes your heart leaps because it fascinates you, immediately the joy is short-lived because of the thought of it being too late. If I had to live my life that way, I probably would […]

by kingsleygrant

Pornography is one of the biggest issues that stifles midlife career change and / or transition but is able to fly below the radar, rarely detected. How often do you hear a statement like this one? You might want to know if it is something that has been researched and proven. I cannot say there is that research. If you come across one, please let me know. However, as one who help people in issues pertaining to performance, I find pornography to be one that plays a significant role. It has physical, sexual, emotional, spiritual and relational consequences. What is […]

TML198: How To Have A Supportive Wife During Midlife Transition with Kingsley Grant

So many men in midlife long to have a supportive wife who would join them in their quest to accomplish their dream. At least that’s what I’ve heard and read.

Kingsley GrantI’m not sure that’s a fair assessment. Most times it’s the husband’s lack of giving her enough and before-hand information that leads to her not being readily supportive.

One of the questions I like to ask these men is, how long have you had the idea of a transition? Many of them will say, a long time.

I’ll follow up with, when did you inform your wife of your idea? Some will say they gave her enough lead time. They discussed it every step of the way. Others have said, when I was getting ready to make their final decision.
