"What does online marketing tools have to do with a career change?' you say.

"It all depends!"

"Really. It all depends! Is that the best you can do?" you reply.

online-marketing-tools-career-change-beginner-kingsley-grantThese might be some of the questions you're having as you read the headlines. I would too.

This topic will not be true for everyone.

No one topic fits all. These 7 crucial online marketing tools are for you if you are planning to make a career change that leads to doing the work you love namely, your own business.

The term marketing is fitting because no matter if it is an online or offline career change we are making, we are marketing ourselves.

In this episode you'll hear how the following 7 Online Marketing Tools can positively impact your career change pursuit.

Here are the 7 Crucial Online Marketing Tools You'll Need In Making A Smooth Career Change:

1. Wordpress Website (

Even though there are other platforms that can be used, Wordpress is the one recommended for it's versatility and access to a multiplicity of plugins

2. Canva for artwork (

Making quick and painless images for your website, is something that you are going to find necessary. Canva is a FREE downloadable app that gives you templates to use that has already been sized for the platform you are posting on.

3. MailChimp to store emails (

Mailchimp is just one of a number of email marketing sites you can use. However, it gives you the ability to collect up to 2000 emails for FREE. It is very user-friendly. PS: I do not use Mailchimp. I use Aweber, which I discuss within this episode.

4. Buffer to schedule posts

Buffer is mentioned here because it is the one I currently use. I find it to be cost effective even though I'm not using it as I should. No one's fault but mine. It is used to schedule posts that you want to make across multiple social media platforms frequently.

5. Keyword Planner from Google to do research

You will need to do research to make sure you are producing content or products people--your audience--wants and is asking for. You'll know what they are asking for online by doing research. Google Keyword Planner is a great tool for that and it is FREE. You'll need to have a Gmail account to access it.

6. Google Analytics to see where your interactions are coming from (Free from Google)

I have to confess that I'm now becoming better acquainted with Google Analytics. For too long I've ignored it but I realize it's the best way for me to know where my traffic source originates. It gives tons of other information that you will love but you don't have to get too technical right away. Just be familiar with it.

7. Social Media Apps such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Google+

As discussed within the episode, I included social media apps as a tool and explained why. You will also hear the ones that were highly recommended and why.

This list is not exhaustive. However, if you are transitioning into your online business, these online marketing tools are a must. There are others that could also be recommended but these will get you started.

If there are others that you would have included, take a moment and let me know within the comment section below. You could also email me directly at:
